Dilbert’s ‘Harcore No Sell Out’
Normally I don’t write long write ups for videos, but this one feels fitting. Somewhere around 2021-ish I pulled up to skate Dune, one of our many waterfront ledge spots here in Tacoma. While we were down there skating we bumped into a couple dudes we hadn’t seen before, which was pretty normal at that spot. What wasn’t normal was one of these dudes was front blunting the ledge over and over and somehow popping out mid ledge like it was nothing. I’ve never done that, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone personally do that either, so I was impressed.
We talked a bit while skating and I learned he and the homies were from Olympia. He kept banging out tricks all afternoon, and we filmed a really nice flick back tail that I ended up throwing in a random VX edit we made. After the session I went up to say goodbye and ask their names to maybe stay in touch on IG. The front blunter told me he didn’t have IG (he does now, but didn’t for a while) and said his name was Dilbert. I was like, “damn, how can I find you?” and he said, “YouTube.” I kinda laughed to myself and was like alright, fair enough.
I never found him or saw him again until years later when that same recognizable Dilbert name popped up on IG, of course I followed him. We never talked or ended up skating again, but I’ve loosely followed him from afar since. Which brings us up to just yesterday, when he posted on IG that he dropped an edit with all the footage he’s been stacking with his homies over the past few years. He even put his DJ hat on and mixed a full soundtrack to set the vibe. The video features a solid crew of Olympia skaters and spots, plus plenty of Northwest footy. Oh, and best of all, the front blunts are in there too. Enjoy!
