An Un-Official List of Professional Skateboarders from the Pacific Northwest

Surprisingly, trying to figure out what pro skaters are from the Pacific Northwest, isn’t exactly easy. You would think googling “pro skaters from the NW” would yield an easy to find list of pros from our zone, but as of 2023, there is no such list. So, we thought why not start a list of professional skateboards from Pacific Northwest.

This our un-official, poorly researched, work-in-progress list of professional skateboarders from the Pacific Northwest, specifically pro skaters from Washington and Oregon.

Lastly, if we missed someone, please send us an email, as we want this to be as accurate as possible.

Steve Olson - Tacoma, Washington

Steve was influential to everyone in the NW, but really to anyone around the globe who grew up watching the Shortys video Fufill the Dream.

Kristin Ebeling - Seattle, Washington

Kristin is pro for Meow Skateboards, Executive Director of Skate like a Girl, and just all around rad human.

Troy Gipson - Seattle, Washington

Troy Gipson is now officially pro for William Strobeck’s new company Violet Skateboards.

Dane Barker - University Place, Washington

Dane is a U.P. kid who rides for some of the best sponsors in the game. He’s Pro for Quasi and also ride for Cons, Venture and Spitfire.

Ben Koppl - Seattle, Washington

Better known as his IG handle Rollersurfer, Ben has a pro board on Blast Skates.

Corey Kennedy - Lake Stevens, Washington

Corey has done about as much as pro skater can do from our neck of the woods; SOTY nominee, Thrasher Cover, a handful of amazing skate parts, traveled around the world, got a pro shoe on Nike, and has dozens of Girl boards with his name on them.

Simon Bannerot - Enumclaw, Washington

Simon is in a lane all to himself; He’s got insane power, tech god skills, graceful flow and surf style. He got the cover of Thrasher as an AM, Pro shoe on Lakai, Girl boards with his name + art, and several insane parts including the final part in Lakai’s Bubble.

Griffin Gass - Seattle, Washington

Griff is a Seattle legend at this point. He’s pro for Girl skateboards and he even has a pro model on Lakai.

Matt Gotwig - Olympia, Washington

Matt lives in Seattle nowadays but his original hometown is Olympia, WA. He’s currently Pro for Mark Gonzales Krooked skateboards, an honor no other locals have had.

David Gravette - Issaquah, Washington

David has been pro for well over a decade. He has a done a lot in those years. He had Thrasher covers, been on King of the Road, grinded some insane rails, meltdowns gone viral, and still has a pro board on Creature.

Kevin Kowalski - Oregon Coast

Kevin is from the Oregon coast. He’s pro for Blood Wizard and can still be found shredding the deep bowl parks of Oregon.

Aaron Herrington - Corvallis, Oregon

Polar pro Aaron Herrington originally heralded from Corvallis, OR, but now resides in NY.

Cody Lockwood - Portland, Oregon

Pro for Creature, Cody hails from Portland, OR.

Silas Baxter-Neal - Eugene, Oregon

Silas is a NW pillar. One of the few on this list with a pro model shoe, he’s also the only NW skater to be crowned SOTY on the list. He’s still down in Oregon ripping, and filming video parts to this day.

Sebo walker - portland, Oregon

Sebo is a NW vet, originally from Salem, Oregon. He’s pro for Krooked skateboards. He’s still in Oregon making art, raising his family and filming video parts. Read our interview with Sebo here.

Brent Atchley - portland, Oregon

Brent blew up quickly in the mid 00’s and became known worldwide for his parts in a handful of Element videos where his uniquely effortless style.

tyler bledsoe - portland, Oregon

Tyler is tattooing in Portland, pro for Quasi skateboards and still ripping.
